Love was in the air at Xfinity Center on Senior Night.
After senior center Ivan Bender proposed to his girlfriend at midcourt before the game, a second proposal in the stands in the waning minutes capped No. 24 Maryland’s 69-60 victory against Minnesota in the regular season finale.
With the win, the Terps (22-9, 13-7 in the Big Ten) could still finish fourth in the conference -- and earn a double-bye in the Big Ten tournament next weekend -- if Michigan State and Purdue win their respective season finales against Michigan and Northwestern, and Wisconsin loses to Ohio State March 10. Any other result will see the Terps finish fifth.
