D.C. metro-based employment law group to attend annual event

The Spiggle Law Firm is co-sponsoring the annual awards gala of the Women’s Bar Association of Washington, D.C. to be held later this month. The firm, which focuses on workplace law and specializes in sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination and pregnancy discrimination, has offices in Arlington, Va., Washington, D.C., and Bethesda, Md.

“The Women’s Bar Association of D.C. was founded in 1917 in the face of discrimination and has continued that legacy in the century since then,” said Tom Spiggle, founder of the Spiggle Law Firm and a former federal prosecutor. “We’re proud to co-sponsor an event designed to highlight the contributions made by women lawyers around the Washington area this year.”

Several women from the Spiggle Law Firm will also attend the 2019 Women’s Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association Foundation annual awards dinner, which will be held May 22 at the National Building Museum.

Founded in 2009, the Spiggle Law Firm has consistently hired women lawyers to help fight workplace discrimination cases, many of which affect women and women of color, and currently more than half of the staff is made up of women. Along with harassment and discrimination, the firm handles equal pay, retaliation and employment agreements, all of which disproportionately affect women at work.

“When it comes to fighting discrimination at work, the first place to look is your own workplace,” added Spiggle. “We’re proud of the record we have of hiring and promoting women lawyers, and we’re excited to attend this event to celebrate them and their colleagues.”
