Frequent readers know I have stressed how difficult it is to project young players when they are first promoted. Fantasy owners fall in love with rookies to a fault. Admittedly, I usually hesitate to go all in which has backfired at times.
I bring this up because of the early struggles by super prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The 20-year-old is batting .162 with just one RBI through his first 10 games. However, Cincinnati Reds top prospect Nick Senzel hit three home runs during his first six games. I think Guerrero will figure it out and impact fantasy teams this season, but it just shows how difficult it is when it comes to rookies and projecting their performance.
