UMBC director of athletics Tim Hall has named Liam Bowen as the head coach of the UMBC baseball program.
Bowen assumed the role of acting head coach May 1, 2019 and will become just the fifth head coach in program history after spending the last eight years on staff and the last two years as the associate head coach.
"Liam has done an outstanding job during his tenure at UMBC and I am confident he is well-prepared to become the leader this program needs moving forward," said athletics director Tim Hall.
Bowen, who was on the staff during the team's recent America East Championship run in 2017, is grateful for the opportunity and is excited to help continue the success of the program both on and off the field.
