Fantasy Baseball Waiver-Wire Targets: Aug. 23, 2019

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa has landed on the injured list, as the 24-year-old is dealing with a back injury. He'll play in 110 or fewer games for the third straight season. I wrote this earlier in the season when he was injured, but I have to again: It's going to be extremely difficult to draft Correa anywhere before Round 4 next year since he can't stay on the field consistently.

Waiver-Wire Targets:

Arizona Diamondbacks Shortstop Nick Ahmed -- The 29-year-old picked a great time to heat up, as many fantasy owners are looking for a replacement to the aforementioned Correa or San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. Ahmed recently won National League Player of the Week and is hitting .323 with seven home runs in August. Ahmed has a chance to score 90 runs and drive in 90 runs while hitting more than 20 home runs and chipping in double-digit stolen bases. The Diamondbacks shortstop is the red-hot addition this week, so jump on this now.
