There is nothing worse than a late-season injury to a key player. Fantasy owners fighting for a championship received a major blow this week when Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich fouled a ball off of his knee. He will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The other issue with late-season injuries are teams not placing these players on the injured list. This isn't a huge deal in redraft leagues, but in keeper and dynasty leagues, this is a big deal. You're not dropping a player like Yelich or Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez. Due to their respective teams not placing them on the injured list, you are unable to pick up a player to fill their void so it's a double blow.
