During the first two games of the 2019 season, Maryland football's offense was simply unstoppable. The Terps dropped 79 points in a season-opening shutout of Howard, followed by 63 against then-No. 21 Syracuse. The 142 points were the most in the country, a program record for any two consecutive games, and enough to vault Maryland to No. 21 in the AP poll, its first ranking in six years.

This wasn't the same level of stagnation that last year's team reached at times -- the 2018 Terps had three games with fewer than 200 offensive yards and four games without an offensive touchdown -- but it certainly wasn't fun to watch. Maryland gained 345 yards on 85 plays, an average of just 4 yards per snap. Quarterback Josh Jackson went 15-of-38 for just 183 yards and was shaky all day.
