Michael Lewis
Michael Lewis, a senior engineering advisor in DLA Piper's Telecom practice, has been named a member of the United States delegation to the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19).
He will be part of the team negotiating the global treaty for the use of radio spectrum. In particular, this will include spectrum for new 5G wireless services, global satellite systems and space communications. The conference begins October 28 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Lewis is an engineer with broad experience in the regulation of the electromagnetic radio spectrum. After 8 years with the Federal Communications Commission, where he served in various senior engineering policy positions overseeing the wireless and broadcast industries, he transitioned to private practice where he helps equipment manufacturers, innovators, and commercial service providers to bring new radio-based products and services to the US market.
