Even given Maryland's tough loss to Temple Sept. 14, CBS Sports Network and SiriusXM college football analyst Rick Neuheisel is more than confident in the future of the program with Michael Locksley in command.
Neuheisel was a fan of Locksley's work when he was leading the offense at Alabama; Locksley won the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant in 2018, when the Crimson Tide scored 45.6 points a game. Neuheisel believes Maryland has the right man in charge.
"Mike Locksley was the play-caller on a team that broke every record at Alabama offensively. They were a Star Wars-type juggernaut offense," Neuheisel said on Glenn Clark Radio on Sept. 17. "We know he's got the goods to deliver really, really fun football at Maryland."
