Five Takeaways From The Terps' 59-0 Loss To Penn State

Maryland football’s primetime matchup against No. 12 Penn State on Friday night had been highly anticipated for months. It was seemingly over in seconds.

In front of a sellout crowd of 53,288 -- the largest Maryland Stadium crowd in eight years -- the Terps provided absolutely nothing to cheer about. Penn State controlled the game from the opening minutes, and an anemic Maryland offense never caught up. By the final whistle, it was a 59-0 obliteration.

Nittany Lions quarterback Sean Clifford had his way all night, completing 26 of 31 passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns. Maryland’s Josh Jackson, meanwhile, went 10-of-21 for just 65 yards with a pair of interceptions. Penn State racked up 619 yards of offense while holding Maryland to a ghastly 128.
