Navy HC Ken Niumatalolo: Air Force Win 'Very Gratifying For Our Program'

Navy football suffered a major setback in 2018 when the program went 3-10, losing to Army for the second straight season and missing out on bowl eligibility for the first time since 2011.

It was an unexpected turn for the worse, but in 2019, the ship has been righted for the Midshipmen. They've started out 3-1 and defeated Air Force, 34-25, Oct. 5, the first step toward regaining the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.

"We made some changes in the program this offseason and all of it pointed to games like Saturday," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said on Glenn Clark Radio Oct. 10. "To be able to get the first leg, to win a hard-fought game against a really good Air Force team was very gratifying for our program."
