Tech Advisors, a leading technology solution provider for small to mid-sized businesses, founded by CPAs, today announced the appointment of J.D. Martin to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

His joining the firm further distinguishes Tech Advisors in the marketplace in that there are now three Martin brothers in the company. Konrad and Kevin, J.D.’s twin brothers, founded the firm in 2002. All three brothers are CPAs by trade and a significant portion of the Tech Advisors client base consists of CPA firms.

J.D. Martin, a native of Bangor, ME, is a graduate of the University of Maine/Orono. He began his career at a Bangor CPA firm then later took a position at another firm in Blue Hill, ME. He eventually purchased that firm and it became known as the J.D. Martin Company. Brothers Konrad and Kevin worked there for several years after graduating from college. Eventually, the twins relocated to Massachusetts and subsequently launched Tech Advisors. In 2001, J.D. Martin sold his company and relocated to Virginia.

There he served as Director of Budget and Finance for the town of Colonial Beach, VA, and later filled a similar position with Caroline County Public Schools, managing annual budgets of $44 million. His resume also includes assisting with accounting advisory work for several area non-profit organizations and serving on several advisory boards. In all, he brings more than 25 years of financial experience to his new role.

He is father to two children: his daughter Emily, who lives in Bethlehem, CT and son Mac, who lives in Portland, ME. His stepson Nathan works for a marketing firm in northern Virginia.

His interests include motorcycle riding, reading, politics and maintaining the yard among his spare-time interests.
