Nicholas Klein Joins DLA Piper's Litigation and Regulatory Practice in Washington, DC

DLA Piper announced today that Nicholas Klein has joined the firm's Litigation and Regulatory practice as of counsel in the Washington, DC office.

Klein advises clients on international trade and national security matters, including national security reviews before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), export controls, sanctions, anti-boycott and trade policy. He has extensive experience representing clients with the trade and national security aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other business transactions. He regularly advises clients on all aspects of compliance with US export controls and economic sanctions, including compliance program development and review, licensing, product classification, voluntary disclosures and resolving enforcement actions.

"Nick brings a wide-ranging and important regulatory practice that will bolster our representation of clients in a number of sectors, including aerospace and defense, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, energy and technology," said James Brogan, co-chair of DLA Piper's US Litigation practice.

"His skillset and deep knowledge of CFIUS and export controls will enhance our already strong practice in these increasingly complex and critical regulatory areas, particularly as these issues impact corporate transactions and company compliance efforts," added Jeff Lehrer, managing partner of the firm's Washington, DC, office.

Klein, who joins from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, previously served as an officer and Airborne Ranger in the United States Army.
