Mercedes Tunstall Joins Loeb & Loeb as Partner

Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Mercedes Tunstall, a leading consumer finance lawyer, joined the firm’s Washington, DC, office as a partner in the Advanced Media & Technology group. Her practice focuses on financial services regulatory matters, with an emphasis on payments and blockchain technologies.

Tunstall works closely with financial institutions of all kinds as they incorporate artificial intelligence, mobile payments, social media, cryptocurrencies and blockchain and distributed ledger technologies into their operations and the products and services offered. She also has deep experience in providing privacy-by-design and security-by-design counseling to a variety of industries. In addition, Tunstall brings significant experience advising clients on bank regulations and defending against enforcement actions, including those taken by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA as a leader in the field.

Tunstall was previously with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in the Consumer Finance Regulatory group. She earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.M. from DePauw University. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a staff attorney at the Federal Trade Commission and held in-house roles at leading banks.
