Mindgrub is Proud to Announce a Partnership with RetrainAmerica

5/26/20

RetrainAmerica is an exchange that connects anyone – regardless of background, education, or prior experience – with an opportunity for retraining for jobs of the future.

By providing retraining, reskilling, and employment opportunities, RetrainAmerica seeks to fill empty positions with qualified candidates and adds better-paying jobs to local tax bases. All while giving people pathways to careers they might never have considered.

Led by software engineering and technology workforce development company Catalyte, RetrainAmerica was formed in collaboration with several corporate, training, and government organizations. The exchange will launch in Maryland immediately, with more states expected to follow.

“Every Maryland resident must have the opportunity to advance their career and provide a better life for their children, and the state must continue to be a leading hub for technology, cybersecurity, biotech, and other cutting-edge industries,” said Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson. “RetrainAmerica provides a critical resource by aggregating training and apprenticeship opportunities in industries of the future, giving individuals a path forward and companies the talent they need to grow.”

“This is a turning point in American history,” said Jacob Hsu, CEO of Catalyte. “Unless we provide workers whose jobs won’t exist at the end of this crisis direct opportunities for new career paths, we risk abandoning the most economically vulnerable Americans. RetrainAmerica is here to provide those opportunities for the jobs of the future and help businesses find the talent they desperately need.”

"As a growing technology company in Baltimore, we have a vested interest in helping the people in our community find avenues for new opportunities," said Steven Promisloff, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Mindgrub. "We've had internship programs dating back to 2002, helping train people who were primarily interested in development careers. Since then, Mindgrub has provided internship and training support in other service areas such as design, user experience, and marketing. We’re thrilled to find new ways to expand our efforts and help people kickstart new careers through the RetrainAmerica Program."

Launch partners include Mindgrub, City of Baltimore, CareFirst, Exelon, Brown Advisory, Protenus, Baltimore Corps, Fearless, Traitify, Whiting-Turner, and GRIMM. Mindgrub is also providing digital marketing services in support of the RetrainAmerica program launch.
