TrustedQA Establishes James Beauford Excellence Award

6/4/20

TrustedQA, which provides software and systems engineering services, established the James Beauford Excellence Award in honor of James Beauford, senior systems administrator and subject matter expert, to recognize employees who share Beauford’s traits of loyalty, leadership and excellence. The award’s first recipient, Beauford was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease in December 2019 and retired from TrustedQA in May after 10 years of service.

“Jim has exemplified unsurpassed operational systems knowledge and leadership abilities,” said Neil Moyer, president of TrustedQA. “News of Jim’s diagnosis saddened everyone with the exception of himself, who in his true nature shifted his focus to adapting, overcoming and rising above these circumstances to continue his work, sharing his knowledge and uplifting and supporting his team members to succeed.”

Unable to hold an award ceremony following social distancing guidelines, TrustedQA mailed Beauford a plaque and donated $1,000 to The ALS Association on his behalf to promote further research. In addition, TrustedQA will match donations to The ALS Association on Beauford’s behalf up to $500 for each donation to a total of $5,000 through the year. Donors can submit donation receipts to Cheryl Velandra at cvelandria@trustedqa.com.

A resident of Laurel, Maryland, Beauford served with TrustedQA’s Defense Information Systems Agency on the Global Command and Control Systems-Joint (GCCS-J) program team.

“Looking back over the last decade, Jim has been an invaluable asset to our organization. A significant amount of our growth on the GCCS-J program can be attributed back to Jim’s involvement and leadership. More importantly, our team’s success can be traced back to Jim. We are eternally grateful to have had Jim as part of the TQA organization and cannot think of anybody more deserving as we celebrate Jim’s tenure here at the company,” Moyer said.

TrustedQA will honor an employee with the James Beauford Excellence Award every August, the month Beauford joined the company. Awardees will receive a plaque, $500 bonus and $500 donation to The ALS Association on their behalf.
