Universal Companies, the ultimate spa and wellness resource, names Dafne Berlanga, Senior Director of Equipment Sales, according to Universal Companies’ Chief Executive Officer, Karen Short. Berlanga joins the rest of the UCo field team and is working remotely from Minneapolis. She will be responsible for a variety of equipment and will focus on domestic and international markets.

“Dafne is the perfect hire for us,” said Universal CEO Karen Short, “ She has a proven ability to help companies create their spa experience as well as maintain that special ongoing relationship to help them continue to expand and be successful.”

Berlanga joins Universal after five years with Oakworks Inc, a manufacturing company that distributes medical equipment and accessories for pain management, ultrasound, lithotripsy, exam and physical therapy and Spa and Massage equipment and accessories in more than 90 countries. She was Vice President of International Business Development and led the international business units with an overall 43% sales growth in 2019.

Prior to that she worked with Sybaritic Inc for 12 years, most recently as Vice President Business Development, Accenture / Mexico and Spain, Alstom Transport / France and Mexico and began her career as a Project Leader with Infinta Consulting.

Berlanga, who speaks three languages, has a degree from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. She is also the Chair of the Sustainability Initiative for the Global Wellness Institute.
