Debbie Johnson

The Virginia law firm Gentry Locke is pleased to announce that Technology Systems Manager Debbie Johnson has been selected as one of Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2020 Unsung Legal Heroes. The award recognizes talented and dedicated legal support professionals who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes.

Johnson joined Gentry Locke in 2006 and her current role involves overseeing the firm’s technology resources, as well a team of three IT professionals.

“COVID-19 has presented unique challenges to all law firms. Under Debbie’s leadership, our IT department successfully converted Gentry Locke to a virtual workplace almost overnight,” said Gentry Locke Managing Partner Monica T. Monday. “Debbie and the IT team she manages were absolutely critical to our ability to seamlessly continue to serve our clients during the pandemic. She is truly our unsung hero of 2020.”

Johnson was named a “Hero” in the IT/operations category. Other categories included firm administrator, legal secretary, paralegal, and receptionist. Honorees will be formally recognized in a special section of Virginia Lawyers Weekly on December 21.
