Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Christopher M. Scribner has joined the firm as a senior policy adviser in the Legislative and Government Affairs Practice in the Washington, DC office. Mr. Scribner is a federal government advocate and advisor for clients across the financial services landscape.

Mr. Scribner most recently served as senior vice president and principal of a consulting group, working on policy and political advocacy for regional and global banks, fintechs, payment companies, commercial real estate firms, and trade associations. He has also worked with clients in the healthcare and transportation sectors. Mr. Scribner was head of public policy and corporate affairs for a top 20 U.S. commercial bank, working largely in the areas of federal government advocacy, public affairs, and strategic communications. He is a former reporter, speechwriter, educator, and author.

Mr. Scribner received his Ph.D. in American History from Vanderbilt University in 1996, and his B.A. from Princeton University in 1988.
