Annual list chosen by other Washington, D.C. lawyers

Business litigation lawyer D. Margeaux Thomas was named a 2021 “Rising Star” on a prestigious list based on evaluations from other Washington, D.C. area attorneys and other achievements in the legal field. The Rising Star list is reserved for lawyers who are under the age of 40 or have been practicing for less than 10 years. No more than 2.5 percent of D.C. lawyers are chosen for this list.

“This honor is especially meaningful to me because both the nominations and evaluations came directly from my respected peers,” said Thomas, founder of the Thomas Law Office, which is based in Fairfax. “It is also encouraging to have received this honor for the ninth year in a row. Thomas’s law firm focuses on business contracts, partnership and landlord/tenant disputes. Before starting the firm in 2016, she worked at big law firms in the greater D.C. area.

Starting in 2013, Thomas has been named to the  elite Super Lawyers list nine years in a row. Super Lawyers is a service that rates lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have a high degree of professional achievement and esteem. Lawyers are selected based on nominations, independent research and peer evaluations. 

Each year, no more than five percent of D.C. area lawyers are selected for the list.
