Fincantieri Marine Group Signs New 20K SF Office at Met Square

Leasing momentum continues at Met Square since unveiling of renovations

Newmark announces a new 20,102-square-foot office lease for the Fincantieri Marine Group at Met Square located at 655 15th Street, NW in DC. Newmark Vice Chairman Brendan Owen, Executive Managing Director Ed Clark, Associate Director Kate Kaltenborn and Associate Max Planning represented the landlord group of Boston Properties, Blackstone and EQ Office in the transaction.

Fincantieri Marine Group is the U.S. subsidiary of Italian enterprise Fincantieri and is one of the world’s largest shipbuilders. The company employs 19,000 shipbuilding professionals in 20 shipyards across five continents. This company serves both commercial and government customers in the U.S., including the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

Met Square is located at 655 15th Street NW and encompasses 670,000 square feet over 12 floors. The LEED Gold-certified property recently underwent a $60M renovation that included all new lobby finishes, atrium, facade glass and mechanical systems. There is also a new 15,000-square-foot amenity zone complete with exclusive spaces and services for customers: a lounge, fitness center, conference facility, collaboration zones and concierge services. The property features a stunning new penthouse rooftop terrace with sweeping views of the White House, Treasury Building, Old Executive Office Building, National Mall, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and the Potomac River.

Met Square's location offers direct access to area amenities, including Old Ebbitt Grill, MXDC Restaurant, Swings Coffee, a Bright Horizons childcare facility, The Hamilton Restaurant and The Hamilton Live music venue. The property features three levels of underground parking with valet, car charging stations and a new bike storage facility and is located just one block from the Metro Center Station (Blue, Orange, Red and Silver Lines)
