Unified Community Connections Names Amy Kreitz CEO

Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency supporting individuals with disabilities, named Amy Kreitz as president and CEO, effective May 29. Kreitz brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including serving most recently as chief operating officer for Unified Community Connections.

“I am honored for the opportunity to serve as CEO of Unified Community Connections and excited to work with the team to support individuals with disabilities,” Kreitz said. “I am committed in furthering the success of our organization for our individuals, their families and all of our team members.”

Kreitz was chief operating officer of Unified Community Connections for five years, where she oversaw the agency’s 300 employees, 45 residential homes, four day programs and support and transportation services. She set performance goals and helped grow the agency, maintained compliance with laws and regulations, led cross-functional teams on projects and analyzed and applied agency performance data.

“We are so pleased to have found such a talented person in our midst,” said Ellen Milles, chair of the Unified Community Connections board of directors. “Amy has demonstrated over the years her leadership skills and her dedication to the individuals and families we support. We know she will carry on the legacy of our CEO for past 14 years, Diane Coughlin. I am excited to see how Amy will continue to grow our organization.”

Kreitz’s previous positions at Unified Community Connections include director of operations in Western Maryland, community services director in Frederick as well as residential coordinator and recreational therapist in Frederick. She also was the therapeutic recreation director at Buckingham’s Choice in Frederick.

Kreitz holds a master’s degree in health care administration from University of Phoenix, a certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation and a bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania.
