Greenspring residents celebrate receiving their COVID-19 vaccine. More than 96% of those who live at the Springfield senior living community have been vaccinated
Greenspring, a senior living community managed by Erickson Living in Springfield, today announced that it has completed its COVID-19 vaccination clinics, with 96 percent of its residents receiving both doses.
“Since the onset of the pandemic more than 12 months ago, our team has worked diligently with residents, their families and local health officials to help safeguard the well-being of everyone who calls Greenspring home,” said Chandra Kumar, executive director of Greenspring. “I’m proud of the exceptional results we have achieved by working together – and I’m thrilled that so many of our residents now have an additional level of protection against COVID-19. We could not have reached this important landmark without the professionalism of our partners at CVS, the unwavering commitment of our staff and the resilience of our residents.”
Every resident who wanted a vaccine at Greenspring has now received both doses, and look forward to safely enjoying the abundant on-campus amenities, dining experiences, and friendships that are hallmarks of Greenspring’s active, vibrant lifestyle. Residents, staff and visitors continue to take precautionary measures, including wearing masks, maintaining social distance and frequent hand-washing, to keep each other safe and well-protected.
Residents have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccination conveniently on campus.
“We at Greenspring consider ourselves as a little village, a community of residents and staff who genuinely care for one another. This past year has been very difficult for all of us, but working together we have managed to get to a good place,” said Lynn and Roy O’Connor, Greenspring residents. “We have all celebrated with joy receiving the coronavirus vaccine shots at the clinics held on our campus. We rooted for one another as shots went into arms! Now, of course, the conversations are forward-looking…hugging grandkids, dinner with family members and friends. Greenspring has done a fantastic job taking care of us. I can say with confidence that all of our neighbors feel the same way about our staff and their concern to keep us safe throughout this past year.”
Greenspring is one of 20 senior living communities managed by Erickson Living. To date, more than 24,800 residents at these communities have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
