Firm will lease office portion of 1.5-msf mixed-use Development near Alexandria’s Potomac Yard Metro Station

Avison Young, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, announced today that it has been awarded the exclusive leasing assignment for the office portion of the premier, 1.5-million-square-foot Oakville mixed-used development in Alexandria, VA.

Avison Young Principals Dave Millard, Peter Berk and Nick Gregorios will represent developer StonebridgeCarras and an affiliate of The Blackstone Group in lease negotiations with prospective tenants.

Slated to be built in two phases, Oakville will be strategically positioned between Del Ray and Potomac Yard in Alexandria, VA. Oakville will contain a mixture of office, hotel, residential and retail space a few minutes away from Reagan National Airport and less than 1/3 of a mile to the new Potomac Yard Metro Station. The trophy-class office space will comprise 125,000 square feet in a seven story building that will be fully built out in phase I. Construction of phase I is scheduled to commence in summer 2017 with delivery and initial office tenant occupancy anticipated by mid-year 2019.

The awarding of the leasing assignment to Avison Young comes after StonebridgeCarras announced plans in February to build a ground-up, mixed-use development near the strategic Potomac Yard location. Oakville is near the epicenter of Alexandria’s transit-oriented development, surrounded by vibrant and bustling neighborhoods and will offer excellent access to the entire metro area with three points of ingress/egress to Jefferson Davis Highway.
