APAH is one of just 40 non-profits across the country to receive Citi Foundation's highly competitive Community Progress Makers Award. The award will provide APAH with a two year, $500,000 grant to increase affordable housing and work with other non-profits to help residents build assets and thrive in Arlington.

"Quality housing creates a stable foundation for low income Arlington residents. We are fortunate to have wonderful services and partners already making an impact. Our initiative will focus on low-income residents along Columbia Pike. We will engage residents, non-profits, government, and business leaders to identify opportunities to coordinate services and build strong ladders of opportunity."

Citi Foundation selected APAH from more than 400 applicants. Announcing the awards, Brandee McHale, president of the Citi Foundation said "these organizations have a track record of implementing solutions that work for their communities because they know the people there, understand what resources to tap and, most importantly, feel deeply invested in the places where the live and work. We believe that's the key to leading urban transformation efforts in Arlington and elsewhere across the country."
