The Eisenhard group wanted to express thanks, appreciation to clients in law enforcement
Mary Beth Eisenhard, who leads The Eisenhard Group of Long & Foster Real Estate, knows that the jobs of police officers and others who work in law enforcement roles can be difficult, so she and her team have been distributing goodie bags to their law enforcement clients to thank them for their service.
Eisenhard said the kits are their way of letting the recipients know that they appreciate them both as clients and for their work in law enforcement. She said she also uses the kits to express appreciation to additional officers she meets during her travels. The kits include candy and other small treats, as well as a fun poem tucked into the bag explains why the treats were chosen. The poem includes lines such as, “Life Savers to remind you of the many times you’ve been one,” “Hershey Kisses to show our love for you,” and “PayDays because you don’t do it for the money.”
“Those who work in law enforcement and public safety don’t always see our appreciation, and we thought this would be a great way to show that and let them know we’re thinking of them,” Eisenhard said. “When it comes to law enforcement, EMTs, firefighters and teachers, they are our heroes. It’s all about creating relationships and taking care of the clients we’ve been honored to serve. That’s what makes me love what I do.”
The inspiration for the idea came to Eisenhard from an agent in Kansas City, Missouri named Maria O’Dell, as well as from her 15 years of experience as a coaching client with the coaching organization Buffini and Company. Buffini encourages agents to “pop by” to see former clients to stay in touch with them. In addition to providing the goodie bags to law enforcement clients, Eisenhard said she and her team hand out similar bags to teachers, firefighters and EMTs.
