Ari Firoozabadi, Co-Founder of Greysteel, a national commercial real estate investment services firm, has received the NAIOP Developing Leaders Award for 2016. This award honors select individuals under the age of 35 who exhibit outstanding leadership characteristics, have notable professional achievements, and are passionate about community service.

Mr. Firoozabadi founded Greysteel in 2012 with a clear vision of how he thought a great real estate company should conduct business, as a single unified, conflict free team. He is proud to have grown the company from three employees to over 50 transaction professionals, marketers, data scientists, analysts, copywriters, designers, communications specialists, and project managers across seven cities in less than four years. In 2015, Greysteel’s transaction activity increased by 85% and its staff nearly doubled. Greysteel’s continued rapid growth under Mr. Firoozabadi’s leadership is a prime example of his ability to disseminate his vision for a collaborative, conflict-free platform to the entire company.

At the corporate level, Mr. Firoozabadi is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm, key hires, geographic and service line expansion, and setting the tone for the company culture. At the transaction level, Mr. Firoozabadi is charged with originating and maintaining new relationships with private, middle-market, and institutional multifamily property owners as well as commercial real estate lenders. He provides best-in-class tailored solutions to his clients for their investment sales and financing needs. Mr. Firoozabadi currently serves as rotating chairman of the firm’s investment sales, structured finance, and team building committees. Lastly, Mr. Firoozabadi serves as head of the executive committee, where he works with other senior leaders to ensure execution of the firm’s strategic vision.

The recipients of this year’s Developing Leaders Award will be honored at NAIOP’s Commercial Real Estate Conference 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona from September 26 – 28th, 2016.
