Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction and project development firms, announced the promotion of Niklas Franck to Senior Director of Communications and Marketing for Skanska Infrastructure Development in the United States. Skanska Infrastructure Development works on public infrastructure projects, such as hospitals, schools, and roads, through public private partnerships (PPP) in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Nordic region.

Franck’s move to the United States is part of Skanska’s increasing interest in expanding its flourishing PPP business in North America. In May 2016, Skanska and its LaGuardia Gateway Partners team signed a lease agreement and achieved financing for the public private partnership redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport's Central Terminal B. In the U.S., Skanska has two other major P3 projects underway, the I-4 Ultimate Project in Orlando, which is currently the largest transportation project underway in Florida, and the Elizabeth River Tunnels project underneath the Elizabeth River in Virginia.

“Niklas has been key contributor to our infrastructure development business in Europe and his communications expertise will be integral to our growth and expansion as the U.S. PPP market continues to develop and mature,” said Johan Henriksson, President, Skanska Infrastructure Development.

Franck joined Skanska in 2011 as an external digital communications manager based in Stockholm, Sweden where he focused on the company’s external website, social media and visibility in search engines. Most recently he has spent three years in London, UK, where he was responsible for communication around the existing projects, for example the M25 Motorway and Barts & The London Hospitals, as well as project development and internal and external corporate communication.

Prior to his work for Skanska, Franck gained over a decade of experience in planning, producing and publishing content as a corporate communications consultant at agencies in Stockholm and London. His work included management of, and consulting and copywriting on, communications projects, corporate reporting, and corporate websites.

Skanska Infrastructure Development is a leader in the global Public Private Partnerships (PPP) market. The business unit invests in, develops and operates roads, hospitals, schools, power plants and other social infrastructure in partnership with the public sector.
