A maker of cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients has started work on a $60 million manufacturing plant in eastern Henrico County that is expected to employ 50 people within two years.
Polykon Manufacturing LLC has cleared land on a 22-acre site in the White Oak Technology Park and expects to start construction soon on the 80,000-square-foot plant.
The new plant will primarily produce the ingredients that are used in consumer cosmetics for private-label brands, such as Estée Lauder and L’Oreal.
