Cushman & Wakefield advised American Psychological Association
Cushman & Wakefield today announced that 10 G Street NE has achieved LEED Platinum certification.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Michael Alexander, Emily Paciolla, Mary Larson, Matt Patterson, Scott Clark and Todd Wise advised the owner of the building, American Psychological Association, for this project.
“10 G achieved LEED Gold in 2011,” said Mr. Alexander, “and with APA’s continued leadership, tenant support and continual performance improvements, we were able to achieve the LEED Platinum certification in the recertification effort.”
10 G Street is a Class A office building located in the Capitol Hill submarket of Northeast Washington, DC. It is a half block from Union Station with Metro, Amtrak, VRE, and many retail amenities and restaurants nearby. ”Earning this important certification demonstrates APA’s commitment to sustainability and to being a part of our nation’s clean energy transition,” said Archie L. Turner, APA’s chief operating and chief financial officer.
The building is also home to the nation's first urban green roof and labyrinth, installed in late summer 2008, and adjacent to an existing terrace on the roof. Small plants called sedum and the labyrinth—an ancient tool for meditation that has in recent years seen a resurgence in popularity—cover 3,600 square feet of the building's roof.
