The Oliver Carr Company, on behalf of current and former company leaders and employees, congratulates former DC executive, John J. Donovan, Jr., on his recognition earlier this month by the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association as a recipient of its Hall of Fame award.
The Oliver Carr Company founder and Chairman of Carr Hospitality and Carr City Centers, Oliver T. Carr, Jr., noted John’s remarkable influence on the evolution and success of the Carr Company, saying, “CREBA’s recognition of John’s leadership and impact on commercial real estate in Washington, DC speaks volumes about his code of ethics, unrelenting pursuit of excellence and compassion and respect for the people around him. John was the standard bearer for the Carr brand, from its beginnings as The Oliver T. Carr Company in the 1970’s through the years as the national, publicly traded REIT, CarrAmerica. We congratulate John on this well-earned honor and wish him the best as he enjoys time with his wife, Lynne, in Virginia and Massachusetts.”
Prior to his retirement from CarrAmerica in 2005, John Donovan was the Market Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee of CarrAmerica Realty Corp. (formerly NYSE:CRE) and served in multiple leadership roles within the Carr organization. He was highly involved in community organizations including the Advisory Board for Jubilee Enterprise of Greater Washington, the Economic Club of Washington, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors. Mr. Donovan is an alumnus of Georgetown University.
