Nine months after the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance announced plans to relocate its headquarters to the former James River Conference Center on Lucado Place, construction began over the weekend.
The organization currently works out of a small office on Memorial Avenue. According to Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance CEO Megan Lucas, the organization’s move to the new downtown location early this summer is a big step forward for the regional business organization.
“We’ve outgrown our current building, and it doesn’t meet the needs of a progressive and innovative business community,” Lucas said. “The board believes the premiere organization representing the business community needs to be located in the center of the region, be easily accessible and [have] parking available for everyone.”
