202 Market Building In Downtown Roanoke Is Sold To Local Buyers

The commercial property at 202 Market St., on one of the most visible corners in downtown Roanoke, has been sold.

According to a real estate deed filed in the Roanoke Circuit Court clerk’s office, the property was sold to 202 Market St. LLC on Aug. 31. Roger Neel and Neal Keesee, who are well-known restaurateurs in the Roanoke Valley, were listed as two of the members of the corporation. They own Billy’s restaurant and The Quarter, which are also downtown, and recently they reopened The Farmhouse in Christiansburg. Neel also has ownership stakes in Corned Beef & Co., Frankie Rowland’s Steakhouse and 419 West.

Keesee said they want to keep a restaurant concept at the site, but he declined to provide any other specifics about plans for the space. He said the building is in good shape and just needs slight cosmetic renovations for what they plan to do. They hope to open the restaurant in November, he said. Keesee said he is excited about the space and its location downtown.
