As part of its efforts to strengthen its competitive standing and financial performance, Framatome, formerly Areva, is taking actions to manage its facilities more efficiently by relocating its Nuclear Parts Center, currently on Old Forest Road, to Mt. Athos Road.
Preparations for this relocation, which include the construction of an addition to the existing Mt. Athos Road facility, currently are underway, said Denise Woernle, Framatome's vice president of communications in North America who is based in Lynchburg.
“As a result, we are exploring options to sell or lease the existing Nuclear Parts Center property,” she said.
