The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has chosen Robert S. McKenna as its new leader.
The retired Navy captain will take over as the organization’s president and CEO on March 1.
“I’m looking forward to working in a community with a lot of great leaders to make a better quality of life for people on the Peninsula,” McKenna said. “And, I’m looking forward over the next several months to getting to know the business community better. I will cast a wide net initially to find out the most areas I can be of the most value to the community.”
McKenna, who has lived throughout the U.S., Europe and Japan, said he and his family have had a home in Newport News since 2003.
