Over two years after a ceremonial groundbreaking, progress on ITFederal’s first building at the Royal Phoenix site is visible. Contractors have set in place the steel framing of a 10,000-square-foot office building.
Although ITFederal originally planned one 46,000-square-foot building, its campus will now consist of three buildings.
Jennifer McDonald, Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority executive director, said the October 2015 groundbreaking ceremony was purely the idea of the office of U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Roanoke. Reasons for construction delays since have included a year-long wait for the Environmental Protection Agency to release the site and another year-long wait for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to approve a stormwater permit.
