Belle Grove Plantation’s 100-year old Bank Barn will receive a $1 million-plus renovation.
The renovation, which was made possible through a $1.1 million gift from The Shoemaker Family Charitable Trust, was announced Monday on the upper level of the two-story barn. Winchester-based KEE Construction Services will begin work on the barn next week, with a hopeful completion date of spring 2019.
The renovation will preserve the building’s structure while creating space for a gift shop, exhibits and other visitor amenities on the first floor, including a ticket desk and media room. The upper level will be used for seasonal events such as weddings.
