As we’re focusing on cybersecurity growing in the Washington, D.C.—area this month, today brings news of a West Coast cybersecurity company that recently expanded an East Coast office.

Milpitas, Calif.-based FireEye, a publicly-traded cybersecurity company, has expanded in Northern Virginia with a new office located at 11955 Freedom Drive in Reston, Va. The company said it has been growing its presence in Reston and Alexandria, Va., since 2011.

FireEye offers a single platform for organizations to use who are struggling to prepare for, prevent, and respond to cyber attacks. The company was founded in 2004 by Ashar Aziz, who led the company as CEO and CTO until 2012. Since its inception, FireEye has filed more than 150 patents for tech in the area of cyber threat protection.
