Miles & Stockbridge, a leading business law firm with more than 220 lawyers in the mid-Atlantic region, announced today that Bill Riggins, a deeply experienced real estate lawyer, joined the firm in May as a principal in the Real Estate & Transactional Finance Practice Group in Washington, D.C.

Riggins represents buyers, sellers, developers, lenders, investors and contractors in the full breadth of real estate transactions and asset types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, energy, flex, educational and mixed-use urban projects.

He counsels clients on the acquisition of properties, structuring and financing of projects, ground leasing and related due diligence, development agreements, easements and covenants. He also drafts and negotiates construction contracts, architect contracts and related project documents.

“Bill brings a deep understanding of the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia markets to his work in real estate acquisition, development and finance,” said Nancy W. Riggins focuses his real estate work on the mid-Atlantic region with extensive experience and knowledge of the laws and regulations governing real estate in Maryland’s Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, Anne Arundel, Frederick and Charles Counties, as well as Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia. Bill is experienced in navigating the statutory purchase rights of Counties and tenants in Maryland and the District of Columbia, including Montgomery and Prince George’s County ROFR and D.C. TOPA.

Before joining Miles & Stockbridge, he chaired the Real Estate Transactions Practice Group at the law firm Linowes and Blocher LLP. He is a resident of Washington, D.C.
