Woman-owned firm rebrands to reflect expanding practice
Hedgeman Law Firm, a renowned woman-owned comprehensive law firm in Albany, today announced it has expanded its operations, opening an office on Pennsylvania Avenue at the seat of U.S. government. Concurrent with this expansion, the firm is changing its name to the Hedgeman Law Firm (formerly The Law Office of Catherine Hedgeman). The rebrand includes the launch of a new website and social media footprint.
The Washington D.C. office, located at the Willard Offices on Pennsylvania Avenue, will add a new capacity for the firm to serve clients in areas of Regulatory practice, Government Relations and Corporate and Commercial Law on both the federal and state level. The firm is seeking to bring in new attorneys to support this expansion.
“Since working in government relations in Washington, D.C. following my undergraduate degree, I have always wanted to return as a practicing lawyer,” said Hedgeman. “The timing is right as we continue our steady growth in New York’s Capital Region. Our new office and accompanying rebrand reflect our growth and the longevity we plan to have as larger players in the legal landscape, both in New York and D.C.”
Hedgeman is a magna cum laude graduate of Union College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with Department Honors, in 1996. She received a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 2000 where she was an associate editor of The Albany Law Review and was awarded the Dominick Gabrielli award for excellence in Appellate Moot Court.
The firm, founded in 2007 by Hedgeman, serves a wide range of clients ranging from individuals to businesses, nonprofit organizations and municipalities. Hedgeman Law Firm prides itself on its community ties and involvement, and plans to translate this culture to the new office in Washington, D.C. creating opportunities for clients to enjoy success while contributing to a strong business community.
