Letitia “Tish” Long Joins Octo’s Board of Directors

1/5/21

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Octo today announced the addition of Letitia “Tish” Long to its Board of Directors. Long served as a civilian from 1978 to 2014 in positions of increasing responsibility in Naval Intelligence and the Intelligence Community (IC), culminating in her appointment as Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In this capacity, Long was the first woman in history to serve as the head of a major intelligence agency.

The addition of Long brings to Octo’s Board of Directors further focus on the IC, a core customer, and marks Octo’s history of commitment to the IC: in 2019, Octo acquired Connexta, a leading provider of enterprise data discovery software used across the IC and by U.S. allies around the globe.

Long’s career began in Naval Intelligence where she became the first female Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence in July 2000. From there she moved on to Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Deputy Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency before her final position as Director of the NGA where she was the visionary behind its first-of-its-kind Map of the World program that now provides geospatial intelligence data to all U.S. intelligence, military, diplomatic, and disaster recovery assets globally.

“Having led Octo’s NGA account since 2015, I have seen firsthand Tish’s immense impact on NGA from strengthening culture to modernizing its customer user experiences,” said Sam Stollar, Octo’s Sr. Vice President for Intelligence Programs. “Her unwavering focus on the end users of NGA analytic and foundation GEOINT content directly aligns with Octo’s user-centered approach to mission system modernization. I’m excited to have her as a resource to my business and Octo overall.”

“Having Long on our Board of Directors is a massive boon to our ability to understand and support the Intelligence Community,” stated Octo’s CEO Mehul Sanghani. “Her history with and understanding of the inner workings of the IC overall and the NGA specifically allow us to create solutions that better support its mission. We’re elated to have her on our board.”
