Abbott, a nutritional-products manufacturing company, is bringing 56 new jobs to Campbell County.
Paid for in part by the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, Abbott’s $34 million expansion to its Altavista facility was the result of a competitive process between Virginia and several other states. The expansion will take place over the course of the next three years.
Abbott currently employs 500 people in Altavista.
“People around the world rely on our nutrition products to live more active, healthy lives,” John Ginascol, Abbott’s vice president of global nutrition supply chain, said in a news release.
“As the need for our science-based products continues to grow globally, we look forward to expanding our facility in the Commonwealth of Virginia so we can help more people live better.”
