Former BVU Authority CEO Wes Rosenbalm will spend less time in prison after a federal judge reduced his sentence this week.

Judge James P. Jones ordered that Rosenbalm’s sentence be cut by nine months, meaning the former CEO will now spend 24 months in federal custody. Rosenbalm, 46, pleaded guilty last summer to charges of conspiracy to defraud the IRS and conspiracy to commit federal program fraud and was sentenced to 33 months.

Prosecutors recently asked that Rosenbalm’s sentence be reduced in light of his “substantial cooperation” in the arrest or conviction of another.

Rosenbalm was expected to testify in the February trial of former BVU Chief Financial Officer Stacey Pomrenke, but never took the stand. She was convicted on 14 of 15 corruption counts and her sentencing was recently rescheduled to Aug. 9.
