The agency that enforces federal labor law – including the section that says workers must be paid at least the minimum wage for all the hours they work – is investigating reports of unpaid wages at a Newport News printing firm.
Apollo Press filed for protection from its creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code last month. Its filings reported unpaid wages exceeding $69,000 to two dozen employees.
The company's filings show at least some workers have not been paid since April.
