The company that had pitched a sprawling, multi-use entertainment center for the old Dome site said Wednesday it put the kibosh on the plan because of the Norfolk outlet mall.
Peterson Cos. of Fairfax had proposed a complex with national chain restaurants and shops at the Oceanfront. But last week, the company missed a deadline for the project, dubbed VA ViBE!, and had been quiet about whether it would proceed.
On Wednesday evening, the company’s president of development cited Norfolk Premium Outlets in a statement emailed to The Virginian-Pilot.
