Last week former director of the Commercial Driving Program at Blue Ridge Community College pleaded guilty Thursday to four counts of embezzlement, admitting he bilked the school out of $61,846. The conviction came after a two-year investigation into 12 years of scamming that occurred at the Weyers Cave-based community college.
Despite all of that, the school still doesn't know how R. Michael Eller was able to carry out his schemes without being caught by a supervisor or discovered by some backstop by the school, said Bridget Baylor, director of public relations.
"I don't know," Baylor said when asked how Eller was able to swindle the school without being caught in the 12 years the activity was going on. "As soon as we were aware of any suspicious activity we reported it directly and promptly to the Virginia State Police."
