Technology giant Hewlett Packard Enterprise has quietly opened a Blacksburg office with a “small, elite team” of engineers — and “limitless” growth possibilities.
The $36 billion international company handpicked the town for strategic investment this summer, as HPE was simultaneously establishing a sweeping partnership with Virginia Tech, according to Rick Sullivan, HPE vice president of global applications development and management services. Sullivan is also a Tech graduate.
“We’re going to prove out at every step of the way and continue to grow it,” Sullivan said. “No cap. No limit. No ceiling.”
These kinds of engineering outposts are becoming more common as the war for tech talent reaches new heights in the Silicon Valley and other major tech hubs that draw top engineers from around the world.
