Appomattox County is about the get its first solar energy farm.
The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors approved 3-2 two conditional use permits for New Energy Ventures to build a 78-acre solar farm off U.S. 460 eastbound in Spout Spring.
Wreck Island Supervisor Bryan Moody and Board Chairman Sam Carter cast the dissenting votes on both permits.
