A new business incubator is going into the heart of Roanoke’s Grandin Village, and it’s causing a bit of a stir.
Two entrepreneurs bought the building at 1320 Grandin Road S.W. last week with plans to open a new professional services hub. The two retailers that currently occupy the ground floor of the building, Urban Gypsy and New To Me Consignment Boutique, will have to leave when their leases are up in August, leaving some in the neighborhood concerned about the direction the village is headed.
Accountant Micah Fraim and entrepreneur Adam Linkenauger purchased the building last week as Roanoke Business Hub LLC for $725,000, according to Clay Taylor of Waldvogel Commercial Properties, who handled the sale. The building was previously owned by developer Ed Walker’s Welton Avenue Partners LLC.
