The stakes have never been higher for the Navy football program.
For the first time in 136 years, the No. 20 Midshipmen are playing for a league title.
The opportunity arrives Dec. 3 against Temple in the American Athletic Conference championship game. With a victory, Navy could also get the nod as the Group of Five Champion and earn a prized spot in the Cotton Bowl Jan. 2.
The Mids (9-2 overall, 7-1) have one sizeable advantage against Temple by hosting the title game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Navy is tied with Houston for the nation's longest active home winning streak and has not lost in Annapolis, Md., since falling to Western Kentucky, 36-27, Sept. 27, 2014.
